Foundation in Science

Introduction

A Foundation in Science focuses on science-related topics by concentrating on specific subjects related to Mathematics, Science (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and Information Technology. Foundation in Science is usually about 12 months long. Foundation is a preparatory program which prepare the student for the academic pathway into medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and biotechnology programs.

Malaysian Student

    • An overall credit in any five subjects in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and pass in English, History and Bahasa Malaysia

International Student

For international student qualification entry requirement, Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) compared the qualifications against Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) to determine the level of entry requirements in Malaysia.

Generally, entry requirements for international students are as follow;

    • Qualifications below 12 years of schooling (not less than 10 years of schooling) which is the exit qualification in the country of origin is and can be used as entry qualification for Foundation, Level 3 MQF (Certificate) or Level; 4 MQF (Diploma)
    • The qualification used must also be in compliance with the minimum entry requirements set by the Ministry of Hegher Education Malaysia
